KCET 2020: Karnataka Common Entrance Test for Admission in Professional Courses

KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is conducted on state level for admission in professional courses at colleges situated in the State of Karnataka. Admission is based on the rank obtained in KCET and seats are allotted based on the rank through counselling. The list of courses for which KCET 2020 will be conducted is given below.
  1. B.Tech/BE (Engineering Streams)
  2. B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Science and Technology)
  3. B.Arch (Architecture) (based on NATA)
  4. B.Pharma
  5. Pharm.D
  6. Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry
  7. B.F.Sc (Fishery Sciences)
  8. B.Sc (Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture, Forestry)
  9. B.Sc (Home Science)
  10. MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS (based on NEET)

Eligibility Criteria KCET 2020

  • B.Tech/BE/B.Arch: Candidate should have class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with minimum 50% marks.
  • B.Pharma: Candidate should have class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Maths with minimum 45% marks.
  • B.VSc and AH/MBBS/BDS: Candidate must have class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks.
  • There is relaxation of 5% marks available for reserved categories.
  •  Candidate should have a minimum age of 17 years to apply for KCET 2020.

KCET 2020 Exam Pattern

  • The exam will be conducted in offline mode on OMR sheet.
  • There will be multiple choice questions and each paper will be of 80 minutes durations carrying 60 marks each.
  • Each question will carry 1 mark and there will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
  • There will be paper for each subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology and you need to appear for papers according to the courses for which you have applied.

How to Apply for KCET 2020?

  •  Candidates can apply online through the official website.
  • Just fill the required details correctly and upload the required documents in scannned format.
  • You will need scanned photo, signature and left thumb impression for uploading during application process.
  • The application fee can be paid online through credit card or debit card or net banking.
  • The whole application procedure is online and no need to send any hard copy.
  • You can keep the print out after submitting the form online for future reference.

  • General Category Candidates of Karnataka Origin: Rs. 500
  • SC/ST and Female Candidates of Karnataka Origin: Rs. 250
  • Candidates belonging to Other States of India: Rs. 750
  • Candidates Residing Outside India: Rs. 5,000
