Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in association with IIM Bangalore offers Mahatma Gandhi National Felowship program. The fellowship's core objective is to promote skill development and rural employment. At present, the fellowship is only available in a few states like Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Eligibility Criteria for Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship
- Only Indian citizen aged between 21 to 30 is eligible to apply.
- Should be a Graduate or Post Graduate in fields like Engineering, Medicine, Law, Arts, Science, Commerce, etc.
- At least 3 years of work experience in a social or non-profit organisation.
- Must be proficient in the local language of the region.
- Anyone who has applied for the fellowship previously and hasn't completed the fellowship is not eligible to apply.
Mode of Selection
- There will be an aptitude test comprising of multiple-choice questions comprising of questions related to Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension.
- The test be offline conducted at the designated examination centres.
- The second will be an interview which will be face to face. You need to clear the aptitude test to become eligible for this stage.
Benefits of the Fellowship
- The fellowship will be of 2 years duration and fellows will get INR 50000 in the first year and INR 60000 in the second year.
- Upon completion of the fellowship, IIM Bangalore will offer a certificate.
